Yesterday in the NLDS we had some late-inning drama and then a rerun of the night before.

Bryce Harper, Hero

The Nats were down for the count…dead in the water…and then THAT happened. Here’s a great video with the radio calls of the Harper and Zimmerman home runs. Even if it’s not our team, it’s nice to hear someone be excited.

Butt-Hurt Cubs Fan

How dare Bryce Harper, the Nats, and their fans be happy?  HOW DARE THEY?

When a Cubs fan cries, an angel gets its wings, AND the cutest-ever litter of puppies is born.

SMH, Snakes

We counted on you. WE COUNTED ON YOU!  That’s what I get for temporarily setting aside my lifelong antipathy towards snakes. Useless.

Yeah, the Warriors are fine

I woke up in time this morning to see the fourth quarter of the Warriors game from Shanghai. Yeah, the “concerns” about their first two losses were somewhat overblown. And Jordan Bell looks like another great second-round steal.

Upheaval in CFB

Five of the top-25 teams were upset yesterday. It’s getting to be that time of year. That’s what I love about college football–anything can happen. These are jittery and very young athletes here.

And speaking of butt-hurt…

That’s what ESPN might be if their darling Yankees and Red Sox are both eliminated today on a three-and-out. Here are the match-ups, carefully highlighted so Matthew can find them:

Astros at Red Sox, 11:30 a.m.: Brad Peacock (13-2, 3.00 ERA) vs. Doug Fister (5-9, 4.88 ERA). [Yeeeesh. That’s what the Red Sox have for an elimination game?]
Indians at Yankees, 4:30 p.m., Carlos Carrasco (18-6, 3.29 ERA) vs. Masahiro Tanaka (13-12, 4.74 ERA). [That could be a good match-up. Tanaka’s been Jekyll-and-Hyde this year. Meanwhile, look what the Indians can trot out for game THREE.]

Have a lovely Sunday, y’all. Lefty out.
