Yesterday

Madison Bumgarner and the Giants got smacked around by the Cardinals big time. Our ace started the game perfect through 3 2/3 until he gave up the first of three homers. Paul DeJong, Jose Martinez and Harrison Bader. The Redbirds would hit another one off Kyle Crick and it was all downhill from there.

MadBum appears to have lost something on his fastball and that 1-3 MPH difference is costing him. His command evaporated in the 5th when he left a cutter and a slider in the Happy Zone and they ended up in the Twilight Zone.

This has to be disconcerting for the long term.

The Cardinals look to have some serious young hitters that appear to have bright futures.

MadBum went deep and his blast brought a roar through the home crowed, tying the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 4th. Unfortunately, Bumgarner could not get that elusive shutdown inning.

Gorkys Hernandez made two great catches while the Cardinals’ Jose Martinez looks like the second coming of Jack Clark.

Pablo Sandoval is 0 for his last 30.

This season keeps getting worse.

Thanks to Dr. Lefty for two more great posts to take our minds off a bad weekend.

Pitchers and catchers can’t report soon enough.

Today

Today Chris Stratton takes the mound in Denver.

Five Questions

  1. Is Matt Moore the odd man out of the rotation?
  2. What about Gorkys for Willie Mac?
  3. Is Smarge the new Giants ace?
  4. Are MadBum’s issues fixable?
  5. Will the Giants lose 100?!?????
