One of the fun things of publishing this blog is that I occasionally receive emails and solicitations from interesting people. Yesterday I was notified by Paul Swaney, publisher of Stadium Journey, that Willie Mays Field (AKA AT&T Park) finished third in their annual list of top sports stadiums across North America. The list encompasses football fields, ballparks, hockey and basketball arenas and even Minor League parks. It’s a fun read.
Here’s an exclusive quote by Paul:
AT&T Park has shown year after year that whether the Giants are having an up or down season, this is a fantastic place to see a baseball game. It’s the best sports venue in the state of California and definitely a bucket list destination for any sports fan.
Personally, I believe our glorious park should always finish first but perhaps I am biased. It’s nice to be recognized and the list is an interesting read for many reasons. Some of the entries may surprise you: Lucas Oil Stadium? Heinz Field?
Wrigley Field was number 1 overall with Fenway Park at number 2. Dodger Stadium (YUCK!) is listed at 9!
