Greek Giant
There is no sugarcoating it: The Giants looked real bad against the Yankees Friday and Saturday. The Giants entered this series with a modest three game winning streak and good vibes that only winning baseball and a homecoming can provide. They are healthy and they had confidence coming off two impressive wins (yes, some wins are more impressive than others) in Toronto. The Yankees had lost 5,568 man games coming into the series with both Aaron Judge and Giancarlo on the DL, among many others.
Then reality happened. The Yankees B-squad basically beat up on our boys in our own yard. To make matters worse there were moments when the Yankee fans were louder than the San Franciscans.
A win today could give us all a big pick me-up and lessen the pain of Friday and Saturday. The Giants are now 11-16 and sinking like a Steve Stone in the NL West. It looks like the only thing keeping this team from 100 losses is an impressive pitching and defense-first performance thus far in the season.
Today D-Rod is on the hill against Domingo German of the New Yorkers. First pitch is at 1:05 PM, Willie Mays Field time.
