Greek Giant
There are many interesting story lines in tonight’s game against the Reds. The Giants will start Tyler Beede. Mr. Beede has been impressive since Spring Training and appears to have figured out his delivery and wildness issues. The 25-year-old right-hander went 0-1 with an 8.22 ERA over two starts last season, but he is 1-1 with a 1.99 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento this year.
The Reds counter with Sonny Gray, the former Athletic who appeared to be on the fast track to superstardom till injuries derailed that journey. He is 0-4 going into the game.
The Giants and Reds possess the same desultory 13-18 mark.
Game time is 7:05 PM, Johnny Bench time.
