Greek Giant
The Giants simply refuse to play well at home. It’s as if they are sick and tired of the crisp San Francisco air and playing in the best baseball park in the world.
Last night they lost 6-3 to the Pirates while committing two errors, a variety of wild pitches and many other gaffes of omission and commission at the plate. The Giants managed three runs on three hits for a bit of a weird line against a team that is self-destructing in its clubhouse. The Pirates have one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball but they have no problem shutting down our boys in our own park.
I would rather not write much more about this game other than to say Jaylin Davis had an RBI single after a pep talk by Bruce Bochy in which the Giants fearless Manager reminded the young power hitter that Willie Mays also had a rough start to his Major League career.
The Box
There was a bright spot in yesterday’s action however. The Sacramento River Cats won again and are one win away from the Pacific Coast League title.
The River Cats are one win away from a PCL title.
Don’t know what kind of shakeup is going to happen in the minor leagues this offseason, but if Triple-A manager Dave Brundage wants to stay, he should definitely be able to stay. https://t.co/EXp0PIQwqL
