“I like to invent during the game, That’s what I do, I pitch on the fly.”
-Johnny Cueto
With yesterday’s 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks in Phoenix, the Giants won their first road series of the season. Johnny Cueto pitched into the seventh. Alex Dickerson, who seems to be returning to form after a prolonged early season slump, hit a first inning homer and singled in a run. Evan Longoria knocked in two runs as well.
Johnny Cueto’s quote was referring to some new shiny shimmy moves he busted out during the game. The level of creativity and comic relief alone make Johnny Cueto one of the most interesting pitchers in the game. Just look at that swagger! The bubble gum!

Sam Coonrod pitched a scoreless ninth for his first career save. The Giants may have found their new closer.
The victory gave the Giants a 17-19 record at the trade deadline. It appears the San Francisco baseballers refuse to be left for dead in what was supposed to be a lost season in many ways. The Giants are still in the postseason hunt with 24 games to go, one half game behind the Marlins and Phillies (Marlins?!) for the final playoff spot in the National T-Ball League, in which half the teams qualify for a chance at the Commissioner’s Trophy in October.
