Hello Gang, I have another late start to the day due to my new work in research and development for our favorite Giants blog. We are working on new interviews and quite a bit more. The Giants won a nice game yesterday, 2-0, thanks to a great performance by Alex Cobb.

Wilmer Flores went 3-4 and Luis Matos had two hits. The Giants scored their runs thanks to a sac fly by LaMonte in the bottom of the third inning and an error by Mariner’s star center fielder Julio Gonzalez in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Speaking of Wade, check this out: Wade finished 1 of 3 with a walk. The 29-year-old is batting .279 against left-handers this season after not reaching higher than .135 in the three previous campaign.
“I think every team around baseball needs some players that they can depend on, sort of in an everyday way. He’s been so good in this first half of the season, so dependable at first base, such a tough out against left-handed pitching, it’s really hard not to have him in the lineup, period.”

Cobb went six innings and struck out seven without allowing a walk or a run. Tayler Rogers and Tyler Rogers pitched the seventh and eighth innings without allowing a run. Camilo Doval earned his 25th save with a scoreless ninth. The Giants had eight hits on the day against seven by the Mariners.
The win pushed the Giant record to 47-40 and helped our boys avoid a sweep at the hands of the Mariners.
The Giants are off today before playing a three-game weekend series against the Rockies to close out the first half of the season before the All Star Break.
