With 63 games left to play in the regular season the Giants host the Dodgers for three games at Willie Mays Field beginning tonight at 6:45 PM. The pitching matchup is Logan Webb vs Julio Urias. It should be a good one. While this is certainly a big series there will also be no small amount of attention paid to the trade deadline is that is fast approaching.
For the Los Angelinos the loss of Trevor Bauer is no doubt huge. It has been reported that the majority of the players on his club do not want him back. Interesting indeed.
MLB Trade Deadline
There are quite a few interesting rumors and suppositions about Max Scherzer going to the Giants and the Nationals being big sellers listening to offers for every player on their roster not named Juan Soto. Personally, I do not think the Giants will make any big trades.
Giants Injury News
Brandon Belt is nearing rehab and has already started working out. He should begin official rehab games in Sacramento in a couple days if not sooner. This is good news.
Evan Longoria has also started working out and could be back as soon as the first week of August. Do not forget other players schedule to return in the coming weeks such as Aaron Sanchez and even Reyes Moronta and Sam Long. If all of these pieces come back strong the Giants just may be in good shape heading into September and October.
