Since Johnny Black asked for the day off today and I am swamped with a full load of work I decided to make this post a simple game thread. The Giants travel to Philly for a three-game series to face a resurgent Phillies team. Fresh off their win on Sunday in Atlanta the San Franciscans enter play at the Bank with some optimism because the official announcement of Kyle Harrison’s call up to The Show was made yesterday afternoon.
When the Giants called up Logan Webb to make his Major League debut in 2019 Brandon Belt took the rookie under his wing for a word of encouragement, and I quote:
“Welcome to the Big Leagues kid. Have fun, relax, and Don’t F-ck it up!”
Nice.
Those are the same words Logan Webb plans to convey to Mr. Harrison tonight.
Harrison will pitch on Tuesday night. The Giants wanted to give him one day of acclimation, the same process they chose with Logan. Tonight’s pitching matchup is listed, at press time, as Alexander vs. Nola. I love watching Aaron Nola pitch. He is a workhorse and a true ace. It will be a tall order tonight for out boys.
Game time is 6:40 PM.
