The Giants travel to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers for a three-game series beginning tonight at 7:10 PM. The Dodgers are two games behind the Diamondbacks and in second place with a record of 39-30. Injuries have been their bugaboo this year and they have pitching issues. But they are the Dodgers so they just continue to churn out star flamethrowers. The latest rookie phenom is Bobby Miller. At 3-0 with an ERA of .78, he is having a better Major League debut than even Fernando Valenzuela had, so far. He is scheduled to be the starter on Saturday night.

Clayton Kershaw is having another fine season and leads the team with eight wins. Julio Urias has been inconsistent and has not yet found his groove. His ERA is nearing 5 runs per nine innings. Tony Gonsolin is also having a very strong year. At the plate Muncy, Betts, Martinez and Freeman are all having superb, All-Star caliber seasons. The main problem for the Bums has been their injuries to the pitching staff and an inconsistent bullpen.

The Pitching Matchups

Tonight the Giants list John Brebbia as the starting pitcher which we know means he will throw one inning and then sit in favor of the bullpen. I hate these games. The Dodgers have not yet listed their starting pitcher.

Saturday night, as I mentioned, Miller will pitch for the hometown Los Angelenos and the Giants have yet to name a starter. God, I hope its not another bullpen game. Logan Webb will pitch Sunday afternoon, the series finale scheduled for 1:10 PM. He will face Gonsolin.
