The Giants travel to Miami for their first east coast trip of 2021. Notably, this is their first trip East since 2019. The Miami Marlins, the Giants first stop on the road trip, represent a kind of up-and-coming team with a plethora of young talent. Manager of the Year Don Mattingly seemingly has his team in a good place to make a surprise run at the postseason in the National League East. The Marlins are 5-7 and nearly swept the Braves in their last series. Former Giant Adam Duvall is the big bopper so far for the Miamians.

The Giants come into town with a hot streak.

Marlins Stadium is kind of weird. It’s all new fangled and shiny white with a retractable roof (Thank Mays) but it is also a little antiseptic and lacking charm, particularly when the park is mostly empty as it will be during this Covid-era season.

Tonight’s Matchup

Tonight Anthony Desclafani faces Daniel Castano. Game time is 7;10 PM, Miami time.

Johnny Cueto was placed on the ten day IL. Hopefully he recovers quickly.

Happy Birthday Boch!
