The Giants-Nationals game was postponed due to rain last night. The Giants and Nationals will pay tonight at 7:05 PM. The game that was scheduled for last night will be played Saturday afternoon as the first contest in a doubleheader.
Tonight it will be Anthony Descalfani against Max Scherzer, the two hurlers scheduled for last night.
Caleb Baragar is back with the Giants in D.C. Presumably he will come off the IL this weekend.
Susan Slusser has a nice article on Farhan Zaidi in the Chronicle. It gives readers a great look at how the Giants GM and Head Supreme Commander Honcho may be approaching the possibility of adding a big salary to the team:
“We certainly have financial flexibility to work with,” Zaidi said. “We have a great ownership group that’s never given us a hard salary number, and obviously, they’re really excited about how the team is playing. If there’s an opportunity to add payroll in a way that we think meaningfully improves our chances, I think they will be all in favor of that.”
If you want to laugh out loud and appreciate another ballplayer, read this article of anecdotes on Joey Votto. It is truly priceless and Jeremy Affeldt is in it!
