Greek Giant

It’s very difficult to defend a World Series title. The Giants and their fans know this. How hard is it? Well, consider this: there has not been a repeat champion since the 1999 and 2000 Yankees. In the past 24 years there have been so many great teams to hoist the Commissioner’s trophy but for one reason or another the repeat performance does not happen.

For this year’s defending Champs, the Texas Rangers, things are not going well. Bruce Bochy’s team comes into this three-game series against the Giants with a record of 30-32 and has been plagued with problems with the pitching staff. The line up and the defense are all top notch but without starting pitching you are going nowhere. The Rangers are a case in point. Garcia, Seager and Semien are leading the team and are having very good seasons again.
