No baseball yesterday in Denver for the Giants but they gained ground in the National League’s final Wild Card spot since the Diamondbacks lost to the Mets. This means the Giants, Reds and Arizona are all tied with the exact same winning percentage for the coveted final postseason spot in the Senior Circuit. Don’t look now but there are some great pennant races taking place around baseball. The Rays beat the Orioles in the first of a four-game series. They are now only one game behind Baltimore in the American League East. The Rangers won too and they are only one game behind the Astros in the AL West.
The Giants game with the Rockies will be re-scheduled as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.
In other news, the Richmond Flying Squirrels won the second half of the Southwest Division. Congratulations.

The Red Sox fired Chaim Bloom as their Baseball Head Honcho. That was a surprise to some. If you ask me he should have been fired the day he traded Mookie Betts to the Dodgers. At any rate, it appears the Red Sox fans are tired of the under-performance of their club, the lack of a strong Minor League system and overpaid free agents. Sounds somewhat like what we have been saying about the Giants…
