Originally a 10th round draft pick for the Tigers in 2011, Casali figures to be the backup to Buster Posey in 2021.The Giants made room on the 40-man roster for the catcher by officially selling Andrew Suarez’s contract to the LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Association.
So Long Suarez. We hardly knew you.
Casali spent productive seasons with the Rays and Reds. In the last three years, Curt was a Cincinnatian and posted a respectable .260/.345/.440 line with 18 home runs in 485 plate appearances.
