Yesterday Major League Baseball and the Hall of Fame released the official ballot for enshrinement into the hallowed halls of Cooperstown. The names are full of standout players and players who enter the final year of eligibility. For Giants fans one name stands out in particular, for its absence. That guy is Barry Bonds, the greatest baseball player of his generation and one of the top five greatest players of all time, hands down.
Today we continue our annual “Why Barry Bonds deserves to be in the Hall of Fame” discussion.

GG’s 2025 Hall of Fame Picks
If I am voting here are my picks:
Felix Hernandez, Ichiro Suzuki, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, Carlos Beltran and Omar Vizquel. Here is my reasoning: King Felix gets in on a remarkable career that was dominant for nearly a decade. Ichiro was Ichiro, simply impeccable. Manny Ramirez was the best right handed hitter I ever saw. Beltran was a sensational all around player. Oma Vizquel won games with his glove and had an amazing career of quality play and duration. Alex Rodriguez was one of the best in en era rich in shortstops. He also won a ring. Then I would write-in Barry and get him on the Veterans Committee voting ballot.
Obviously I am throwing out any concerns for steroid use or personal character. For me those issues are not relevant for the players I chose. They were simply awesome.
Please list your picks in the comments below. It’s the offseason and I need to be entertained. I miss baseball already and it is only November 19th!
