The Giants beat the Angels 6-1 yesterday to celebrate Memorial Day and finish 18-10 for the Month of May, taking first place back in the process. Johnny Cueto pitches 7 strong innings walking off the mound after the top of the 7th to a standing ovation in front of 13,000 plus fans, smiling and tipping his cap. Holy Smokes it seems like things are getting back to gloriously normal times with the Giants winning behind strong pitching and a nice home crowd, in light of the pandemic.

The Giants also hit three homers to raise their team number to 79. it was their sixth straight multi-homer game, thanks to bombs by Evan Longoria, Lamonte Wade, Jr. and Mauricio Dubon. Dubon”s was a two-run shot in the sixth that chased Angels starter Dylan Bundy, no relation to Bob or Ted.

Evan Longoria left the game with a tight ride side and is not expected to play tonight. We can only cross our fingers and hope the injury is not serious as the Giants are a much stronger team with Longoria’s bat in the line up and glove on the field.

Longoria hit his homer in the fourth with the Giants trailign 1-0. It was a two-run liner that rocketed over the left field wall with a vengeance. Mr. Wade, Jr, what a story… Earlier in his at bat he hit a splash homer just foul. He made the at bat count in the fifth however with a homer that may still be going. It was hit hard and loud.
