Here we are.
Game 1 of the National League Division Series begins tonight with Logan Webb facing Walker Buehler.
At press time the Giants had not yet announced their roster for the series. MLB speculates on possibilities and Maria Guardado does a good job of explaining the options for Gabe Kapler. You may be surprised that in her roster, Thairo Estrada is on the team. Mauricio Dubon is also a possibility and Johnny Cueto makes the cut for middle relief.
Gabe Kapler did announce that Jake McGee will be on the playoff roster.
The Giants will have home field advantage with Games 1, 2, and 5 scheduled for Willie Mays Field.

There are many, including Evan Longoria, who think MLB needs to change the postseason matchup rules so the teams with the two best records do not face each other in an LDS. I agree with him. If you have a 106 games-winning Wild Card team or a team like the Braves that wins 88 games, who do you think the Giants would rather play?
We can also look at this National League Division Series this way: It will be another opportunity for the Giants to prove they are better than the Dodgers in 2021. It goes beyond bragging rights. With a win in this series you could argue that the LCS will be an easier matchup for our boys of Orange October.
This will be the first time in history that teams with this many wins between them (213) meet in a postseason series.
