Today is the fifteenth anniversary of one of the most important games in San Francisco Giants history. Hyperbole, you think? No, because this game, that first of the 2010 NLDS was the beginning of the Giants first title run in San Francisco and set the tone for the entire 2010 postseason. I remember this game very well because I stayed up late to watch every pitch. I had just converted my mom into being a Tim Lincecum fan and he did not disappoint with this specatcular performance in Game 1 of the 2010 NLDS against the Atlanta Braves.

Lincecum pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout against a very good Braves team. I remember his change-up. It was unhittable. He struck out 14 batters and walked one. He was in control from the first pitch of the game and the Braves never had a chance. I also remember the nervous energy Giants fans felt prior to the game.

The lone run was driven in by Cody Ross, a single that scored Buster Posey from second base. The Giants had five hits in the game, two from Posey. Derek Lowe started and pitched 5 1/3 innings for Atlanta.
