Greek Giant
Let’s get this out of the way: Team USA is a loaded, All Star team with more than a few future Hall of Famers. The Giants are well, not that. Yesterday the two teams met in an exhibition contest in Scottsdale and the result was a whooping: Team USA 15, Giants 1. Paul Skenes started and pitched three innings for the Americans and gave up a run. He earned the win. For the Giants Adrian Houser started, also pitched three innings and gave up two runs, for the loss.
The Giants had a total of six hits in the game. There were no bright sides for the San Franciscans. The Americans banged out nineteen hits including homers by Bregman and Anthony. They look ready to roll and win the World Baseball Classic. The first game for Team USA takes place on Friday night and Logan Webb will be the starter. It is a big honor and nice feather in Webb’s cap. Giants fans should be proud.
Today’s Game
The Mariners travel to Scottsdale today to play the Giants at 3:05 PM in a Cactus League game.
