The Giants swept two games in Cincy yesterday. The first win, a 4-2 victory that came as a result of completing a contest that had been suspended in the 8th inning on Monday. The Giants took it to extra innings and pushed across two runs in the extra frame to being the four-game series in a winning way.

Then in the night cap the Giants won an insanely entertaining game with a final score of 11-10, yes, that’s right, 11-10.

There were so many lead-changes and clutch moments that I don’t know where to begin so I will simply post the Twitter highlights.

There were huge hits by Michael Conforto and two home runs by Wilmer “RED-HOT” Flower power. a key bases-loaded walk by Casey Schmitt, a big two-run two out double by Yaz.. I am exhausted just writing all this.

Don’t ask about Anthony Desclafani’s start. He gave up three home runs on pitches right down the middle and looked to be throwing batting practice to a few Reds hitters. Desclafani himself is a former Red so it was a bad night for him but Gabe Kapler, with his quick hook, made this a bullpen game and the Giant bats did enough to fight off and hold off a Reds team that refused to quit until the final out, a double play that Brett Wisely fielded, stepped on second and then fired a throw in the dirt that was scooped by Wilmer. That scoop and play were crucial as the Reds had two runners on and were threatening to walk it off. In fact, it needs to be said that Taylor Rogers and Camilo Doval held the for to shut down the Reds hitting attack.

This was a very exciting game. There were also some great defensive plays on both sides of the diamond.

With the win the Giants are now a season high 54-41 and 1.5 games behind the Dodgers. The Giants have won six in a row and keep finding ways to get the “W” despite injuries to Thairo Estrada and a starting rotation that, as I already mentioned, is basically Logan Webb, Alex Cobb and pray for three days of rain. I daresay that the Giants bullpen is now the best and most valuable in all of Major League Baseball. Who would have thought that after April?!
