The moment we have all been waiting for has arrived. Today pitchers and catchers report to Scottsdale to open Spring Training for the Giants in 2021. While there are still a number of uncertainties regarding the 2021 season we do know what the rules will be and it looks more and more likely that a full slate of 162 games will be on the schedule.

The Giants have received approval from the city of Scottsdale to host about 750-1000 fans per game during Spring Training. You can find more information including how to buy tickets to Spring Training games, here.

The Jake McGee signing will be officially announced today as the Giants could not add him to the 40-man roster till they could move Tyler Beede to the 60-man roster today.
Willie Mays Field and the Fans
One of the expected changes to 2021 from 2020 is the addition of some fans at games. It is expected that the Giants will be allowed to let Willie Mays Field open to 15% – 20% capacity. Let’s hope they sell out every game….
Aaron Sanchez
In other news Susan Slusser reported yesterday that the Giants have signed Aaron Sanchez to a one-year deal. The right-handed flamethrower was hitting 98 MPH on the gun a few days ago. The starter missed last year due to shoulder problems but appears mighty healthy in this video of a recent bullpen session:
